No Space, not a problem!

In land-scarce Singapore, extra space means storage solutions. Especially amidst shrinking residential units and rising property costs, people in Singapore are not that capable of harboring up to the equivalent spare room in their homes.

A study conducted by Extra Space in 2014 for issues related to storage in Singapore concluded that space constraints have impacted the average household. 56% of the total applicants said that their houses were cramped. Yet, 74% said that they have a dedicated junk room at home that used to share items they have not used in years. Few respondents also confirmed that the top locations of rooms, kitchens, and balconies are used to store the junk.

85% of people living in Singapore have agreed that the clutter in the house is affecting the immediate family member; 88% have admitted that storing too many items at home and clutter is making them bothered, distracted, and mentally irritated. 45% of people also agreed that the clutter stresses them, as they usually do something about it. Also, this clutter is major because of increasing consumerism that has led to people acquiring more stuff that are of sentimental value. People these are collecting books, designer bags, memorabilia, and many other things. These reasons are raising a big problem called storage in Singapore.

The bigger solution to it is self-storage warehouses in Singapore.

Over the years, self-storage companies have introduced new features that suit the needs of their customers. These companies offer facility lighting, personalized security checks, premium finishes, walk-in wardrobes, etc. They are 24*7 accessible plus a few of them offer to pick and drop options too.

Furthermore, the potential of this industry and its need of it can also be assessed by the new players that are entering the market. In recent years, there have been major new players in storage in Singapore.

Summing up, higher property prices, increasing disposable incomes, and business expansions, are all factors will continue to fuel the need for storage options in the coming years.
